The Updated Sectoral Qualifications Framework for Telecommunications (SQF TC) is a comprehensive compilation of information needed for the practical application of the framework within the industry, training firms, educational institutions, as well as by people interested in seeking work or training in the field. It contains a definition of the sector, instructions on how to read the framework, and descriptions of how various target groups can benefit from its use. The main section of the publication, the framework itself, contains the SQF TC level descriptors―the set of general descriptions of the knowledge, skills, and social competences for telecommunications qualifications at levels 3 through 8.

The updated SQF TC is the result of several months of work by experts from the telecommunications sector in collaboration with qualifications framework experts from the Educational Research Institute – National Research Institute (IBE PIB). Compared to its original version, the updated version has a revised structure as well as new sectoral determinants, competence series, and level descriptors. All modifications stem from the need to adapt the framework to the numerous and multifaceted changes that have occurred in recent years—not only in telecommunications but also in related industries, such as information technology and cybersecurity, for which SQFs have also been updated.
